Yes, though clay is much easier the day after rain. In bone-dry clay, water the area first and give it an hour.

Will it cut through lawn turf?
It will. The rim slices the grass cleanly, and dropping the plug back in means the lawn knits over within a couple of weeks.

How deep does it go?
Roughly the depth of the barrel, which suits most spring bulbs. For larger bulbs that want extra depth, take a second plug from the same hole.

Is the release mechanism sturdy?

Can I use it one-handed?
