One Rake That Fits Under The Hedge And Still Clears The Lawn

Leaves never fall somewhere convenient. They pile up under shrubs, wedge between perennials and collect in the gap behind the border where a full-width rake can't reach and your arm won't fit. So you end up on your knees pulling them out by hand.

This rake narrows. Squeeze the head down to 11 cm and it slides between plants without flattening them; fan it out to 30 cm and it clears open lawn at proper speed. The handle extends too, so you're not stooping either way.

Two Adjustments, Locked Where You Want Them

  • Head width 11–30 cm. Infinitely adjustable and locks at any point between. Narrow for tight work, wide for coverage.
  • Handle 56–76 cm. Telescopic, so you can work close and controlled or reach into the back of a bed without treading on it.
  • Nine tines. Enough to gather leaves and clippings, spaced so they lift debris without dragging out roots and mulch.
  • Locks solid. The adjustment holds under load rather than creeping shut halfway through a pull.

Where It Reaches

  • Under hedges, shrubs and low branches
  • Between perennials and bedding without damaging them
  • Narrow gaps behind borders and along fence lines
  • Raised beds, vegetable rows and greenhouse beds
  • Open lawn and gravel at full width
  • Clearing pine cones, twigs and grass clippings

Common Questions

Does the head stay where I set it?
Yes — it locks rather than relying on friction, so it holds width under a firm pull instead of collapsing back.

Is it strong enough for wet leaves?
For leaves, clippings and light debris, yes. It's a gathering rake, not a ground-breaking one — don't use it to rip out root mats or break soil.

Will the tines damage plants?
The tine spacing and light action are designed to lift debris off the surface. Work along the soil rather than digging in and bedding plants come through fine.

How short does it go for storage?
Down to 56 cm long with the head closed to 11 cm — small enough for a shed hook, a car boot or a balcony store.

Can I use it one-handed?
Yes. At the shorter handle setting it's comfortable one-handed for close work between plants.
